Welcome back! In my last post I shared my inspiration board for our living room and today I will be sharing a little tour of what we’ve done so far. But first, let’s start with a little before look.
Before
I was impressed with the size of the room and also excited that there was a fireplace. It didn’t have the built in’s that I wanted but there was plenty of room to add.
Some immediate updates we did in this room were repaint the walls, extend hardwood floors, replace that light fixture and of course add the built in’s.
After
Now, it is still a work in progress butttt a huge difference from the before. Also, can we talk about the built in shelves?? What a difference they make. Also, they are HUGE. I remember when I saw them for the first time I was like “Oh goodness, how am I going to fill those shelves??”. They are coming along but far from done. I really want to get some wall art and books to fill up the remaining space. Also, some nice planter vases for the faux topiaries.
I mentioned it in my last post that I have discovered some great antique places in the area and have been trying to find unique pieces for our home. Well this gold mirror was one of the gems that I found and I mean… ALL THE HEART EYE EMOJIS.
The console table is also something that I found at a consignment type of place. I have a whole vision for this area, just taking me a while to find the right pieces. #patienceiskey
Can’t beat those details at the top of that mirror!
There you go friends. That was a little peak into our living room. There are still so many things that I have planned to do. One of the things we want to do it redo the fire place surround and put tile on the brick. The plan was to do it before moving in but then COVID happened and it delayed our timeline. Hopefully, we can get it done in 2021.
In the mean time, some immediate things I am on the hunt for are curtains, wall art and pillows.
Take care!

Just love it so much! You are a wonderful decorator! The floor, hearth, and the built ins add so much to the room! You have such a good eye for details!

Thanks Valerie! Aren’t the built-in’s that Rodney built GORGEOUS?! Can’t wait to fix up the fireplace surround!
