Hello again! I am back, finally, with the kitchen tour. In my last post, I shared my inspiration board for this space and we’ve been able to make some of the updates.
Before I share more pictures of the kitchen, let me share some pictures of what it looked like when we first purchased the home.
Before
Honestly, it wasn’t in bad shape really. It just needed some minor updating such as lighting, appliances and flooring(to my liking).
After
I am so pleased with the progress so far! We applied a fresh coat of paint (Sherwin Williams – Agreeable Gray SW7029), darkened the flooring, replaced the light fixtures and appliances.
The light fixtures are from Wayfair. Given all the recent news of Wayfair allegedly apart of child sex trafficking, I’m hesitant to even provide any sort of recommendation to them. I know that the media is saying it’s all conspiracy theories but ehh. I want to give it some time before I purchase from there again. Either way, that is where I purchased these light fixtures and I do love them.
Got the matching set for above the sink as well.
We also replaced all the knobs. Previously, they were these black ball knobs that looked cheap. We instead went with the Brainerd Jackson 1.03-in Bronze with Copper Highlights Round Traditional Cabinet Knob from Lowe’s. Something so small, but really makes a huge difference!
I’ve recently become a collector of Mackenzie Child’s pieces since moving to this house. The Courtly Check pattern goes perfectly with the black and white kitchen! I will probably do another post to show what I have thus far and what is on my wishlist.
Finally, meet Pancho the Rooster. He came with the house. If you look up at some of the picture above near the sink, you will see that he is screwed to the cabinets. To not leave two wholes exposed on the cabinets, we’ve decided to leave him where he is at and embrace his presence. The good thing is I like chickens/roosters. So I do have an appreciation for his presence.
These pictures are a bit older, so we have added a few more things to the kitchen but more decorative than anything else.
In my next post, I will share the breakfast nook refresh. I feel like there are already a lot of pictures in this post to keep you entertained.
Would love to hear what you think about the kitchen so far? Are you fan?
