Continuing our 2020 Holiday Tour series, today I will be sharing pictures of the tree that we have in Sergio’s office.
This is the first year that Sergio’s office has a tree. He is a big fan of Christmas trees and colored lights, so I wanted to make sure that we at least get a tree for him. As you will see in the pictures, his office is far from being decorated. We have wall art picked out, just waiting on him to pull the trigger and make the purchase!
When I saw pins on Pinterest of navy plaid patterned ribbon on Christmas trees, I knew it would be perfect for Sergio’s office. I was able to find the plaid ribbon at Walmart. Then purchased a dark green ribbon to layer with the plaid and dark green and navy ball ornaments. We also got blue and green lights, however I didn’t turn them on for the pictures. Let’s just say that we could have used another set of lights andddd I need to brush up on my lighting placements next time.
For a theme, I wanted to do a “Places Traveled” because we have collected a lot of ornaments from all the places we have visited.
I am still on the hunt for a tree skirt. Thinking I may need to dust off the ol’ sewing machine and make my own tree skirt for next year.
I created the bow tree topper. That was a funnnn activity as I didn’t realize how much glitter fall out I would experience with the gold ribbon that I included for some extra color. For those who know Sergio, glitter is his arch nemesis, so my pants received a good cleaning with the vacuum before moving from my seat.
Special Ornaments
As I mentioned, we are going with a “Places Traveled” theme to this tree and I wanted to point out a couple extra meaningful ornaments that we have.
First is this Biltmore ornament that we purchased during our honeymoon. Yep, we honeymooned in Asheville over 9 years ago! And have probably visited Asheville each year after that because we love it that much. NOW we are annual pass holders to Biltmore Estate.
The next ornament is from Siracusa, Sicily. A gift from Sergio’s sweet aunt. This is where Sergio’s father grew up and where most of that side of the family still reside. It holds a special place in our heart and I know that if Sergio had the ability to teletransport himself, he would be visiting often!
The last ornament I will highlight is this ornament that Sergio got me last year. A sweet reminder of the year The Orefices officially became North Carolinians.
Well, there you have it friends! This post was a little more short and sweet. Next post will be my office. Get ready for a photo dump!

I love this idea! I have so many ornaments from traveling and will definitely do this next year. The green and navy are prefect together.

Yes! I love having a designated tree for it. I want to get other travel related ornaments like luggages, planes, globes too. 🙂
